The Signs Plus staff consists mainly of the husband and wife team of Keith & Janeen Koch. We purchased Skin & Bone Upholstery in 2005 as our first business venture. After having moderate success with the upholstery business, we decided to focus more of our attention on what we really enjoy. We both have much experience and knowledge in the area of signs and graphics, and saw a need for that in our community. In January 2007, we started Signs Plus and immediately began to make a name for ourselves in the sign business.
Janeen started in the workforce many years ago at Dow Canvas, sewing production items and then being promoted to the custom sewing department. In addition to sewing weather covers and seat cushions for Burger Boat and Marinette Marine, this is where she perfected her skills in creating awnings, both residential and commercial. After several years, she decided to move on to working for another local awning manufacturer, and after that, another sign and awning company. Spending over 12 years there, she learned and became proficient at computer-aided sign design, vinyl application, and all phases of sign fabrication.
Keith has also had a number of occupations that have led to a wealth of knowledge that he can draw from to create effective signs. He has had experience in factory work, woodworking, home-building, and partnering with his uncle on fabricating museum displays at the Wisconsin Maritime Museum. He also worked as a Maintenance Technician at an area public school district. After that, he spent several years at an area sign and awning company, where he performed all phases of fabricating and installing the many different types of signs and awnings. He was able to perfect his welding skills and electrical troubleshooting, in addition to vinyl application, computer editing, sign painting, and neon design and servicing. To round out his extensive background, he enjoys photography and photo editing. He has taken photos for the Prom at a local high school and has created a rather elaborate photo directory for our church.
Both Janeen and Keith are by nature geared toward high levels of quality and craftsmanship. We have been frowned upon by former employers for taking too much time trying to get a project "just right." We believe that every job must be done to the highest of quality standards. But we also know it is important to get the job done as soon as we can for our customers, and will do whatever possible to get them what they want, when they want it.
If you are working with a tight budget, we can help because we pride ourselves on coming up with imaginative ways to improve your image with a minimal investment. We love experimenting with innovative designs and the latest materials to create out-of-the-ordinary projects to get your business noticed. A lot of our projects are one-of-a-kind originals that you won't see anywhere else. Whatever your circumstances, we would love to help you come up with the solution for your situation. We have lots of ideas to help you achieve the image you want for your business and make your sign work for you!
